Join the Durham Symphony, under the direction of Maestro William Henry Curry, and featured guest artists Lenora Helm, Lois Deloatch, Rozlyn Sorrell, Gregg Gelb, Brian Horton, the John Brown Trio and composer, Steve Bryant for a one-of-a-kind concert saluting jazz music and musicians from North Carolina on Sunday, March 2, 2014, 3 PM, at the Carolina Theatre, 309 West Morgan Street, Durham, NC.

Concert goers will enjoy Scott Joplin’s Maple Leaf Rag, Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess, William Henry Curry’s Mardi Gras 2006 with Rozyln Sorrell, and jazz standards I Remember Clifford with vocal jazz musician Lenora Helm, Strayhorn’s Lush Life with contralto Lois Deloatch, and much more.

The Durham Symphony is pleased to announce our local composer-of-the-year, Steven Bryant whose composition, Loosed Id will be performed on this concert. Based in Durham, Bryant composes music across a variety of media and ensembles, ranging from electronic and electro-acoustic works, to chamber music, to works for wind ensembles and orchestras.
