Come away with us! At 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 22, 2017, Women’s Voices Chorus will present Dance the World ‘Round, a choral and dance concert featuring international music. Six local dance troupes will join seventy singers and one big band on stage at Judea Reform Congregation, 1933 West Cornwallis Road, Durham. Jazz, modern, folk, ballroom, Bollywood, and more—the program includes a musical style for every arts aficionado and is appropriate for all ages.
“This promises to be one of the most colorful and high-energy concerts ever presented by Women’s Voices,” says Artistic Director Allan Friedman, who has led the chorus for a decade. “The hall will be filled with singing, playing, dancing, and shouting. Songs and dances from India, Argentina, Ireland, and Africa, along with Appalachian folk music and Broadway tunes, will be offered in a joyful afternoon of music and movement.”
