Thalian Hall's Bluegrass Bash is back with a jam-packed evening full of great BBQ, local brews, and toe-tappin' bluegrass music! .  Come at 6PM for the pre-show parking lot party with local food trucks and samplings from local breweries and distilleries.

Yadkin Arts Council: Yadkin Bluegrass & Old Time Convention

Musicians of all ages are welcome to perform and compete in front of a live audience full of their family and friends. From live competitions to impromptu jam sessions, the toe-tapping sounds of this classic American style of music will be heard throughout the campus of Yadkinville Elementary School all afternoon and evening. There will be concessions available by 3 Dawgs & Desserts, and Mr. People Feeder. And to round it all out there will be a special performance by Mountain Thunder. Doors open at 11:30am with the first round of individual competitions beginning at 1pm and band competitions beginning at 6:30pm. Jammers are welcome. Prizes will be awarded to the top three Senior Bluegrass & Old time Bands, top three Junior Bluegrass & Old Time Bands, and top three individual junior and senior performers.

Bringing hits from the The Grateful Dead back to life are The Dawgful Dead.  Audiences will revel in the musical traditions of Jerry Garcia and David Grisman with fused elements of  rock, folk, country, jazz and blues. The second act of this double-bill features local bar favorites Randy's Army, a collection of top North Carolina musicians bringing their amped-up rock fusion sound to the concert setting.

APPALACHIAN THEATRE OF THE HIGH COUNTRY AND JOE SHANNON’S MOUNTAIN HOME MUSIC: Kelley and The Cowboys

Appalachian Theatre 559 West King Street, Boone, NC, United States

The traditional country music stylings of Kelley and The Cowboys will delight audiences. Female vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Kelley Breiding leads The Cowboys, Jimmy Tremor (lead guitar), Colby Jack (upright bass) and Steve-O Price (drums), in sharing their signature sound on old standards and original music. Their style is heavily influenced by early forms of western swing, rockabilly, country and blues. Opening the show are the Boone J.A.M. Jones House Jammers featuring Orson Cornett, Asa Freed, Tucker Conner, Eli Richardson and Noah Lanham with instructor Ella Hennessee.
