Musical selections for reminiscing include American Christmas Folk Suite, When St. Nick Comes Marching In, Home for the Holidays, Laughing All the Way, and appropriate for Salem Band, Christmas on the Town Square. Hear your favorite traditional songs and carols: Ode to Greensleeves, Silent Night, The Holly & the Ivy, Amy Grant’s Breath of Heaven, and more. Our soloist this year is Salem Band’s own Principal Trumpeter Ken Kline, performing A Trumpeter’s Lullaby with the band.

Holiday Swing Concert

Enjoy some Holiday time with your Salem Swing Band! Lots of your favorite sacred and secular Holiday songs, all in a swing style. Featuring SSB vocalist Mignon Dobbins singing Ella Fitzgerald and other classic swing hits. Music from the Nutcracker, The Grinch, Rudolph, Peanuts, Les Brown, and a special World Premiere of I Saw Mommy Kissing Sant Claus by our own SSB trombonist, Steven Sherrill. Sleigh Ride, Silent Night, Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree, Deck the Halls - and more! Donations gratefully accepted. A free concert sponsored by a grant from the Shallow Ford Foundation.

Appalachian State University: An Appalachian Summer Festival: Canadian Brass: All You Need Is Love

Internationally crowd-pleasing Canadian Brass has earned the distinction of the world’s most famous and popular brass group. Each of their concerts exhibit a full range of musical styles, from trademark Baroque and Dixieland tunes, to Bach, Handel, Vivaldi, Joplin, Gershwin and Ellington, as well as arrangements created specifically for them. The exuberant All You Need Is Love program includes a collection of music from Mozart, Vivaldi, the Beatles, Rimsky-Korsakov, Coldplay and more.
