Sonorous Road Productions is proud to present its inaugural main stage production of Amy Herzog’s Belleville, directed by Zachary Roberts. The story is a dramatic psychological thriller, centered on the relationship of two young Americans Zack and Abby who are living abroad in Paris. Belleville is a recent work of award winning playwright Amy Herzog and was first produced at the Yale Repertory Theater in 2011 and later opening off Broadway at the New York Theatre Workshop in 2013. Herzog’s other works include 4000 Miles, After the Revolution, The Great God Pan, and Hunting and Gathering.
Belleville is an emotional ticking time bomb, slowing unraveling and exposing the frail and fragile state of a seemingly once beautiful marriage between Zack and Abby. Zack’s friend and landlord, Alioune and his wife Amina contrast the relationship of Zack and Abby and expose the complicated and imperative state at which the emotional events unfold. The story reveals the underlying mechanisms that makes a relationship flourish or fail.
Sonorous Road’s production of Belleville features David Friedlander as ‘Zack’, Michelle Murray Wells as ‘Abby’, David-Alexander Coley as ‘Alioune’ and Tara-Whitney Risen as ‘Amina’.
