The Raleigh Boychoir kicks of its 2017-18 season with its A Rich History, A Bright Future: Special 50th Anniversary Concert on September 16, 2017. Led by Artistic Director, Jeremy Tucker, the Boychoir is celebrating its 50th season this year and will mark the occasion with this special concert. The slated performances will include three of the Boychoir’s ensembles –the treble voices of the Resident and Performing Choirs, and the changed voices of the Young Men’s Ensemble. In addition, current choristers will be joined by members of the RBC Alumni – with special solo and spotlight performances for former choristers. Robert Unger, the Boychoir’s former Artistic Director, will return to conduct one piece for the organization. Tom Sibley Jr., son of founder, Tom Sibley will also speak on his father’s behalf.

Just last month, the Raleigh Boychoir announced that veteran accompanist and the current Conductor for the Training Choir, Vicki Oehling would be retiring this season. In fact, this September performance will mark Mrs. Oehling’s last public performance with the Raleigh Boychoir. Mrs. Oehling began her association with the Raleigh Boychoir in the early 1970’s, and her musicianship and nurturing demeanor have been important to hundreds of boys associated with the RBC.

The Raleigh Boychoir’s A Rich History, A Bright Future: Special 50th Anniversary Concert will take place on September 16, 2017, at 3 pm, at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church, 1520 Canterbury Road, Raleigh, NC 27608.
