This all-ages program includes music from your favorite shows written or revived this century: Les Miserables, Mama Mia, Dreamgirls, Phantom of the Opera, Wicked, West Side Story – and for the kids, Encanto, Lion King, Frozen – and more! Sing-along opportunities for everyone; saxophone solo by Eileen.
Musical selections for reminiscing include American Christmas Folk Suite, When St. Nick Comes Marching In, Home for the Holidays, Laughing All the Way, and appropriate for Salem Band, Christmas on the Town Square. Hear your favorite traditional songs and carols: Ode to Greensleeves, Silent Night, The Holly & the Ivy, Amy Grant’s Breath of Heaven, and more. Our soloist this year is Salem Band’s own Principal Trumpeter Ken Kline, performing A Trumpeter’s Lullaby with the band.

This exciting program has something for everyone: Remembering the Remarkables by Grace Baugher, in honor of the Women’s Suffrage Movement; Percy Grainger’s The Immovable Do, Allegretto from Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7, a variety of dances, medleys of music by Billy Joel and John Williams, and classic wind band compositions by Vaughan Williams, Elgar, and Byrd. Salem Band’s Featured Soloist for this program is our own Concert Master Kania Mills, who will perform the electrifying and challenging clarinet solo in Rossini’s Introduction, Theme, and Variations.
