The NC Dance Festival is now accepting applications for the 2015-16 NC Dance Festival (NCDF) tour and the 2015 American Dance Festival/NCDF “Here and Now” performance.

The 2015-16 NCDF Season is our 25th Anniversary season and will run from September 2015-January 2016, with performances in four communities across the state. Participating artists will be paid for their performance and are expected to perform the same dance at all sites. Touring artists are also asked to take part in Festival outreach programs, which involves teaching classes or performing in mini-concerts in a variety of settings in association with concert weekends. Additional pay is involved for these programs.

We are pleased to announce that we will be collaborating with the American Dance Festival (ADF) for a third season to co-present the “Here and Now” performance of NC choreographers during ADF’s 82nd Anniversary season on June 25, 2015 in the Reynolds Industries Theater (Durham).

North Carolina dance artists may apply to perform as part of ADF or the NCDF tour or both. While NCDF tends to showcase modern/contemporary dance, submissions of strong choreography in any genre will be accepted.

Submissions will be considered in a blind review process by a panel of nationally recognized choreographers and NCDF adjudicators. Artists selected to present at ADF will be offered a spot on the NCDF statewide tour, with additional NCDF touring artists chosen by NCDF adjudicators.

Submissions must be received by January 3, 2015. Please visit our website for full submission details and eligibility requirements: www.danceproject.org/festival.
