The Triangle Brass Bands are pleased to announce that internationally-renowned artist Jens Lindemann* will be the featured trumpet/cornet soloist for their Sunday, March 18th concert, “Going for Gold.” This concert presentation will be at 7pm in Raleigh’s Meymandi Concert Hall in the Progress Energy Center for the Performing Arts.
Music Director, Tony Granados says, “This concert signifies the Triangle Brass Band embarking on the next chapter. Last season we celebrated our 25th year of providing the Triangle area with authentic British-style brass music, and now we’re going for fifty. We can’t wait to celebrate our “golden” anniversary!” Triangle Brass Band, comprised of the finest local volunteer brass and percussion players, will also share the stage with the organization’s two youth bands: Triangle Youth Brass Band and Triangle Youth Brass Ensemble.
Lindemann is former Principal Trumpet with The Canadian Brass and one of the leading trumpet soloists on the concert stage. He will join the Triangle Brass Band for the world premiere performance of a new work by British composer Martin Ellerby, commissioned by the band, and will also perform the solo “Dreaming of the Masters” by Canadian composer Allan Gililand, written for him and which he will perform later this spring at Carnegie Hall.
