Artistic Director Gerard Schwarz and the Eastern Festival Orchestra will perform with eminent violinist Tasmin Little during their 51st season. In a career that has taken her to every continent of the world, Little has performed with orchestras such as the Royal Philharmonic, Seattle Symphony, London Mozart Players, English Chamber Orchestra, and Royal Concertgebouw. Her 2003 tour with the Berlin Philharmonic and Sir Simon Rattle, during which she performed at the Proms, Berlin Philharmonie, Salzburg Festival, Carnegie Hall and Philadelphia’s Kimmel Center, received unanimous critical acclaim. An avid advocate for youth, Little is an Ambassador for the Prince’s Foundation for Children and the Arts and, in 2006, was Artistic Director of her hugely successful ‘Delius Inspired’ Festival, which broadcast events ranging from orchestral concerts and chamber music to films and exhibitions reaching 800 school children. The orchestra will feature Ms. Little in Korngold’s Violin Concerto in D major, op.35. Additional pieces include The Chairman Dances and Foxtrot for Orchestra by John Adams, Notturno by Martucci, and Vetrate di chiesa (Church Windows) by Respighi. For tickets, call the Triad Stage box office at 336-272-0160.

Little will also coach a public master class with EMF’s young artists on Friday, July 20th at 4:00 pm. Tickets can be purchased for $15 at the door.
