Word has reached us of the death this morning, April 29, of Dr. Harold L. Jeffreys, distinguished artist-scholar at St. Augustine’s. The long-time band and jazz program director was among the earliest members of the faculty to reach out to the greater Raleigh arts community – he was a member of the City of Raleigh Arts Commission for two terms, and he was a frequent and always-welcome presence at musical events throughout the city.
