CARRBORO, NC — The ArtsCenter is calling a community meeting to discuss the plans for developing a site at 303 Jones Ferry Road.
The ArtsCenter plans to build a new home across from OWASA near the intersection of Jones Ferry Road and Barnes Street. The 1.3 acre parcel is currently vacant, but is proposed for a new facility for The ArtsCenter including studio and performance space as well as approximately 40 parking spaces.
“This is the first step towards building a new home for the arts in our community. The ArtsCenter needs a flexible and innovative space to provide more classes and new programs for everyone in our region,” said The ArtsCenter’s Executive Director, Dan Mayer.
The ArtsCenter’s staff and the design and development team will meet with members of the community on Wednesday, November 13th from 5:30-7:30pm. All are welcome to attend and share their ideas and suggestions.

The ArtsCenter is a 501(c)(3) Arts Education non-profit located in Carrboro, North Carolina which offers classes, performances, and art exhibits all year round. The ArtsCenter facilities include a 350-seat theater, classrooms, a dance studio, a 100-seat performance space, and an art gallery. The ArtsCenter is the single largest employer of artists in Orange County, and serves more than 100,000 students and citizens throughout the area.
