Closing out ADF’s Durham season is one of modern dance’s most beloved companies. Paul Taylor Dance Company will perform Promethean Fire (2002). Set to three keyboard works by Bach as richly orchestrated by Stokowski, Promethean Fire examines a kaleidoscope of emotional colors in the human condition. Images (1977) with music by Claude Debussy, carries the feel of antiquity with dancers performing two dimensional movements as if come to life from ancient pottery. Profiles (1979) with a score for strings by Jan Radzynski, explores the plastic qualities of the human body. Closing out the program is Snow White (1983) featuring a commissioned score by Donald York. Taylor’s take on the Disney classic is clever and fun.
