Governor Roy Cooper has declared a State of Emergency for all 100 counties as the state prepares for impacts from Hurricane Dorian later this week. Many of our arts partners may be affected professionally and personally by the storm.

While much uncertainty still exists about Hurricane Dorian’s track and intensity, meteorologists are predicting that portions of the state could experience high winds and heavy rain as early as Wednesday followed by inland damage from river flooding and power outages. Please take measures to be safe and protect your organization, facilities and studios. You can find some excellent resources on preparedness at https://www.artsready.org/.

Please keep us informed of your needs and know that the North Carolina Arts Council will provide updated information as we receive it.
