Spanish Harlem Orchestra (SHO), the three-time GRAMMY® award winning Salsa and Latin Jazz band, sets the gold standard for excellence in authentic, New York style, hard core salsa. This thirteen-member orchestra is made up of world-renowned singers, musicians, and performers, who are characterized by the sound of Spanish Harlem in New York City with their raw, organic, and explosive tones. Oscar Hernández, the bandleader, founder, and pianist of SHO, honors the tradition of great Latin music and works to promote and continue the salsa movement. The lively energy and layered sound of SHO is completely unique, prompting Latin Jazz Network to describe them as “One of the most important contemporary Latin music ensembles in existence today.” Their latest tour, coming live to CFCC’s Wilson Center, spans their eight studio albums and includes original, harmonic Latin jazz. Now in the seventh decade of his professional life, Herbie Hancock remains where he has always been: at the forefront of world culture, technology, business and music. Herbie Hancock has been an integral part of every popular music movement since the 1960's. As a member of the Miles Davis Quintet that pioneered a groundbreaking sound in jazz, he also developed new approaches on his own recordings, followed by his work in the 70s — with record-breaking albums such as "Headhunters" — that combined electric jazz with funk and rock in an innovative style that continues to influence contemporary music. "Rockit" and "Future Shock" marked Hancock's foray into electronic dance sounds; during the same period he also continued to work in an acoustic setting with V.S.O.P.

Natalie MacMaster and Donnell Leahy

Canada’s reigning couple of Celtic music, fiddlers Natalie MacMaster and Donnell Leahy, were both already stars in their own right when they married in 2002. However, their dazzling careers followed different trajectories before merging: MacMaster was a Cape Breton native who could step-dance before she could walk, and Leahy was the oldest brother of the acclaimed Leahy Family Musical Group.
