This preview has been provided by the Triangle Brass Band.

Brass and Sax!  Are you ready for this?  Triangle Brass Band will share the stage with the North Carolina Saxophone Ensemble in the heart of downtown Cary at the Cary Arts Center on February 22 at 8:00pm.

The group, under the direction of Dr. Evan Feldman, will play the first half of the concert and the Triangle Brass Band will play the second for a myriad of musical sounds all in one night!

Another reason you won’t want to miss this evening is “Salt of the Earth”, a piece by Andy Scott, featuring our very own Andy Smith on Tuba.  Smith says, “This piece has lots of worldly musical influences, including jazz, blues, big band, funk, improvisation, and gospel. It’s also unique in the fact that it intertwines the soloist and band in a way many concertos don’t. It’s really an audience friendly work that will be fun for the entire crowd!”    Concert-goers can also expect to hear the Finale from Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 4, among others.

The Triangle Brass Band, playing in the Raleigh area since 1986, is a British-style brass band comprised of the finest local volunteer brass and percussion players.  They are led by Music Director, Tony Granados.  Triangle Brass Band is proud to celebrate its 27th season.

Founded in 2009, the North Carolina Saxophone Ensemble is an all-volunteer, non-profit ensemble whose membership includes both professional and advanced amateur players. Their repertoire includes transcriptions of orchestral and woodwind works, traditional songs, jazz, rags, marches and pieces written specifically for the large saxophone ensemble.
