Transactors Improv Co. will celebrate its 20th anniversary as the Triangle’s most imaginative and resourceful improvisational comedy troupe with a special show called Twenty Years of Now! The show will feature short- and long-form improv segments, plus special guest appearances by former company members, such as founding member Martha Brown, J. Chachula, Zach Hanner, Ann Linge, Tom Marriott, Jay O’Berski, Eric Singdahlsen, Dan Sipp, and Kathy Williams.

Founded in 1983 in Carrboro, North Carolina, Transactors Improv Co. is a not-for-profit troupe partially funded by an N.C. Arts Council grant. Current company members include Regina Bartolone, associate director Anoushka Brod, Monifa Chamble, director Greg Hohn, Nancy Pekar, Steve Scott, Steven Warnock, and Jane Allen Wilson.

Mike Beard will improvise lighting and sound effects for Twenty Years of Now! And Mark Lewis, Glenn Mehrbach, and Paul Whetstone will alternate on piano as the Transactors practice their own patented brand of rib-tickling improvisational comedy.

The company’s motto is: “If you laugh we’re doing comedy; if you don’t we’re doing drama.” Buy your tickets early, because Transactors Improv Co. has quite a following in the Triangle.
