To the Editor:
I just read your review of the HSO performance of August 23, 2007, and was so appalled that I had to respond. The writer clearly has absolutely no class whatsoever. You state that you strive to “provide critical coverage of classical music and dance throughout the state of North Carolina”, but what your writer did was just plain “be critical” of volunteers who weren’t playing classical music or dancing. His comments about the President of the Symphony Board and the volunteer stage hands were completely tasteless and unnecessary to the whole purpose of your review. It is my opinion that your writer owes an apology to Mr. Don Hupe, Mrs. Cathy Walgenbach, and all the other hard working, selfless volunteers who truly make the performances possible.
