Music for a Great Space (MGS) is offering up Jonathan Beyer, baritone, as the third performing artist of their 2016-2017 season. With pianist Susan Nowicki, Beyer will be performing works by Sibelius, Rimsky-Korsakov, Copland, as well as standards by Rodgers and Gershwin.
This concert will be a treat for vocal enthusiasts and all classical music audiences. In the first decade of what promises to be a long and decorated career, Beyer has been featured by many of the great opera companies around the world including the Metropolitan Opera, Boston Lyric Opera, Opera de Montreal, Oper Frankfurt, Hong Kong Opera, and the Royal Opera House in Oman. He has performed at Carnegie Hall with the American Symphony Orchestra, and performed with the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Chicago Symphony and many others nationally and internationally.
Adding to the this program will be pianist Susan Nowicki, who is a faulty member of the Curtis Institute of Music. Nowicki has appeared throughout the United States as a soloist and a collaborative pianist including frequent performances with members of the Philadelphia Orchestra. She is an avid performer of contemporary music and has recorded for the Capstone, Albany, De Haske, and North-South labels.
