Having made a splash in the world of dance with an evocative interdisciplinary body of work that examines humanity’s identity and diversity as it relates to personal history, Kyle Abraham is quickly establishing himself as one of today’s most innovative and provocative artists. His company will make its ADF debut this summer with Abraham’s 2010 smash hit, The Radio Show. This evening length work examines the effects of the loss of communication within a community, from the discontinuation of a radio station, to the onset of Alzheimer’s and aphasia within a family unit. His luscious, bold, and fearless movement vocabulary is propelled forward by a score that fuses smooth soul, hip hop, and contemporary classical music, making for an evening of unforgettably breathtaking dance.
