The baroque music concert Bach Is Back, with friends will be presented as the finale of the newly created NC H.I.P. (Historically Informed Performance) Music Festival, a week-long festival of performances and educational offerings played on period instruments. The festival is a collaboration of five organizations and university music departments: Aliénor, Baroque and Beyond, Ensemble Vermillian, Mallarmé, The Vivaldi Project and the Duke and UNC-CH music departments. These groups will offer not only Baroque music concerts but also contemporary music written for period instruments. Additionally, there will be opportunities for students of all ages to attend master classes, lecture-demonstrations and workshops on Baroque performance practices.
