UNC Chapel Hill Department of Music: International Symposium for Violinists - includes Free Concerts

Program

Students perform in studio classes every day at 4PM - these are open to the public. The exception is Sunday, May 20, when there will be a public concert at 3PM. Other public concerts will be Sunday, May 13, Wednesday, May 16, and Monday, May 21, at 7:30 PM. There will be a final studio class/concert event at 4PM Tuesday May 22.

Notes

Enrollment in the Symposium is open to high school seniors (rising and graduating), undergrad music majors, and graduate/professional violinists. Violin Symposium is offered by the UNC Summer School. Applications and information at 919-929-0548.

Faculty include: Richard Luby, UNC, Fabian Lopez, UNCG, Eric Pritchard, Duke, Patinka Kopec, Manhattan (May 17-19), & Kevork Mardirossian, Indiana (May 19-22).

The symposium will count for one hour of credit. In-state undergrad $210, grad $225; out-of-state undergrad $530, grad $480 - plus activity fee for course (all participants) $75.
