Program

Please note that this 5-week course is starting Saturday, April 22, 2023, AFTER Watauga County's Spring Break week.

This course will focus on the basics of digital art and photo manipulation. Using the skills they learn, students will create a one-of-a-kind 12”x18” poster that will express their creativity. Students bring their own laptop or iPad. This will be a class that covers a wide variety of software programs and students are welcome to use one of the following programs (at their own expense):

  • Krita (free and open-source painting program for Windows, Linux, and Apple)
  • Adobe Photoshop - Photo & design software (free trial available; plans start at $20.99/month)
  • Adobe Illustrator - Industry-leading vector graphics software (free trial available; plans start at $20.99/month)
  • Procreate (1-time payment of $10, iPad only)

 

Notes

About the Instructor: Kaitlin O'Daniel is an artist and animator who lives and works in Boone NC. In 2021, she graduated with a BFA in painting and drawing. Since then, she has volunteered with the Watauga County Arts Council and has a studio at Nth Degree Gallery and Studios.
