Myers Park Summer Series: Glass, Colors, and Blues

Four conservatory musicians from four different NC towns are uniting in Charlotte to deliver contemporary string quartets - Philip Glass' String Quartet No. 3, Tan Dun's Eight Colors, Caroline Shaw's Blueprint, and Coleridge-Taylor Perkinson's Calvary Quartet.

Dustin Wilkes-Kim (violin) is from Winston-Salem, went to UNCSA and recently graduated from Yale School of Music and joined the Charlotte Symphony. Yulia Price (violin) is from Shelby, NC and Santiago Vazquez-Loredo (viola) is from Hickory, NC, and they both went to the ECU Shool of Music and are currently at NEC for their Masters' Degrees. Drew Dansby (cello) is from Charlotte, is a rising junior at Oberlin Conservatory and Acting Section Cellist in the Charlotte Symphony.


All concerts are free to the public and are held in the sanctuary of Myers Park Presbyterian Church. The Myers Park Summer Series consists of 6 free innovative chamber music concerts from May 16 - June 27, featuring Charlotte Symphony musicians and other young talented performers. 100% of proceeds will go toward mutual aid group Feed the Movement CLT, a volunteer-run mutual aid fund that directly goes to Black trans women and the unhoused community in Charlotte.
