As part of Mental Health Awareness Month, Bending Tree Creative Collective will present the premiere of the one-act play, The LeftEarlies by Amy da Luz. Mandy decides to leave this lifetime early. Her sister, Talya, goes looking for her. The LeftEarlies is a surrealist adventure driven by hope. The show was written by a survivor of suicide loss for survivors of suicide loss and the general public. The story offers a fresh perspective infused with hope. Bending Tree hopes to help erode some of the stigma attached to suicide and suicide loss survivors by telling this story and engaging in discussions with our audiences after the show.
Both shows will be followed by a talkback/Q&A with the playwright and actors. These discussions will be moderated by Jaletta Albright Desmond, a grief and suicide loss peer support specialist with the group Hope After Suicide Loss.
