POSTPONED UNTIL MARCH: Pedigree / Granny's FixIt : An Ozark Guide to Healing the Body and Soul

Fri., Jan. 28, 2022 at 7:00 PM ( Fri., Jan. 28, 2022 - Sun., Jan. 30, 2022 )

Performed by Brittney S. Harris, Dawn Larsen

Static Age Records, 110 N. Lexington Ave., Asheville, NC 28801

Pedigree by Brittney S. Harris: A first-time protester sharing her emotional experience with being arrested and disrespected, Pedigree is a solo performance piece about personal acceptance and recovery from the inexplicit influences of racial hatred and violence.

Granny's FixIt : An Ozark Guide to Healing the Body and Soul by Dawn Larsen: Granny women were healers, midwives, seers...crones who lived and practiced in Appalachia and the Ozarks. We all know, or we should, that women's stories have often been excluded from history. Women, especially older women, are treated as if we are invisible. Well...Dawn, who is entering into her crone years, thinks we have something to say.... She does anyway and this show combines several historic granny women into one character to tell a story of women in a solo show that features original and traditional music, spoken word, comedy, and images to bring granny out of the holler and into the light!
