Students will create wearable fashion-based projects with a focus on recycling and upcycling, taking existing garments/accessories and revamping them into new pieces based on deconstruction and reconstruction. We will also discuss sustainability issues in the fashion industry and the importance of reimagining what we wear and the creative potential that already exists in our closets. Bonus - you don't have to use a sewing machine! Bring your hot glue gun and a bag of old clothes/accessories and let's reimagine these pieces as TRASHION ... and keep'em out of the landfill!
