Program

For April, MGS is "pulling out all the stops" as we close our 30th Anniversary Season. To celebrate, we bring you the MGS Organ Festival 2021.  Featuring 6 local organs and 6 local organists, this 3-week celebration of the artistry in our own city is not to be missed.

The first concert will feature the organ that began it all, the Fisk Op 82 housed at Christ United Methodist.  CUMC organist Chris Dederer will perform works of Purcell, Mathias, Vaugh-Williams, and Preston.  That same evening, we will travel (virtually) to the Op. 71 Dobson-Rosales organ housed at West Market United Methodist Church and feature WUMC organist Dreama Lovitt with a program of women composers: Margaret Shelton Meier and Joan Tower.

The first concert will be presented virtually through our website. The waiting room will open at 7pm and the concert will begin at 7:30pm. Then stay for the live Q&A session with Chris and Dreama immediately following the concert.
