As the world approaches the 250th anniversary of Beethoven’s birth in 2020, two extraordinary artists pair this giant with one of contemporary music’s most influential composers - Philip Glass. Glass’s contemporary compositions are known for their repetitive and elegant melodic structures that envelop listeners in a whirlwind of sonic weather that twists, turns, surrounds, and develops. Pianist Simone Dinnerstein and cellist Matt Haimovitz collaborate on a dynamic program that includes a Beethoven Cello Sonata alongside a Glass Partita, and solo piano and cello repertoire by both composers.
