LaTanya Pattillo, Teacher Advisor to Governor Roy Cooper of North Carolina, will speak on the topic of “Diversifying the Teacher Education Workforce.” Pattillo serves as the voice of the practitioner in the Office of the Governor. She interacts with educators and other educational stakeholders—listening to their concerns and using their feedback to inform both policy and the priorities of the Governor. Rising through the ranks as a parent volunteer, teacher assistant, teacher, and state level policy advisor has allowed Pattillo to bring a unique and rich perspective to conversations in the school house and in the board room.
