Program

Joe Salvatore: Project/Hope - "Part of the Violins of Hope project presented by UNC Charlotte, Project/Hope is an original devised theatre piece examining the role the arts have played in offering solace and hope to victims of genocide, slavery, ethnic cleansing and persecution. Throughout human history, in moments of distress, bewilderment, or terror, the arts have enabled us to express our deep feelings of fear, anxiety, longing, and loss. But the arts also have a regenerative and healing power that has given much consolation and joy to the oppressed. Through the use of primary and secondary source material and improvisation, students and faculty will create and produce an original, collaborative script alongside guest artist Joe Salvatore."
