Antonín Dvořák’s monumental Requiem setting soars in the similar grand Romantic style of the settings of Verdi and Berlioz. Dvořák brings to this work a strong sense of dramatic pacing, inventive orchestration, and his own deep religious devotion. From the fire and fury of the “Dies Irae” to the tender pleas of the soloist’s “Pie Jesu,” this performance will captivate, inspire, and engage.
