The November concerts feature Maestro David Michael Wolff playing piano and conducting, and visiting artist, the virtuoso violinist Natasha Korsakova, a coveted guest for national and international orchestras. Korsakova, of Russian-Greek decent, is one of the most popular violinists of her generation and will be playing an 1870 Stradivarius-Vuillaume "Messiah" violin. Playing with a youthful flair, her ability has been described as a “sinfully beautiful listening experience”. Under Maestro Wolff’s leadership, the orchestra has rapidly grown from a small chamber orchestra into one of the leading symphony orchestras in the region.
The Carolina Philharmonic Orchestra is set to kick-off their 11th season as the headline public event in the dedication of Moore County’s newly renovated Bradshaw Performing Arts Center on the campus of Sandhills Community College.
Owens Auditorium, the restored 30-year-old venue, has a rich history of concert, theater, and lecture performances. The 597-seat auditorium features a state-of-the-art, 32-channel digital mixer, multi-screen projection system, and a fully digital LED lighting system with follow spots.
