Local author, Maryrose Carroll wants to take you on a journey to Bethel, also known as Beaver Dams, a tight-knit community nestled in the mountains of Watauga County. She’ll share her firsthand account about how two Chicago transplants were welcomed into the community with open arms.


Scholars & Scones is a monthly educational program which invites patrons to spend a morning sipping coffee, eating locally-baked goodies, and learning about the latest research, writing, and creativity taking place in our region. Complimentary breakfast goods from Backstreet Bakery and fresh cups of Hatchet Coffee Co. Dangerfield Blend will be served. It is free for Museum Members, $5 for non-members.
