Program

The program will highlight two very different settings of a mass. First, the Chorus performs Franz Schubert’s “Mass in G”, which takes a traditional approach to the Latin text. A chamber orchestra accompanies the chorus and featured guest soloists include soprano Shannon Kessler Dooley and baritone John Dooley. The second setting of the Mass is entitled “A Little Jazz Mass” and mixes traditional text with an upbeat jazz approach.  Composed by former King’s Singer member Bob Chilcott, you’ll be tapping your toes!

Notes

The Wilmington Choral Society is pleased to announce that Ana Player Murray is the 2019 winner of the annual David Hardee Scholarship for Vocal Performing Arts. In addition to a Scholarship Award of $1,000, Ms. Murray will be featured in the solo spotlight as part of the Choral Society’s spring concert.

The Chorus will be collecting donations that day for Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard food bank.
