Program

This CD release party and concert is for Ann Millikan’s Millikan Symphony, composed in honor of her late brother, Dr. Robert C. Millikan (1957-2012), distinguished professor of cancer epidemiology at UNC. Millikan Symphony was recorded by Boston Modern Orchestra Project, Gil Rose conductor, with violin soloist Jennifer Curtis, for release on Innova Recordings. The concert will feature Jennifer Curtis performing the fourth movement of the symphony, a violin concerto, conducted by Susan Klebanow, and a new work by Millikan for string quartet with Curtis and Eric Pritchard on violins, Samuel Gold, viola, and Jon Lewis, cello. A special announcement will be made at the event by the Millikan Family and UNC Department of Epidemiology.
