First Presbyterian Church, 40 Church Street, Asheville, NC 28801-3390
Pan Harmonia promotes music both old and new, and presents three world premiere works featuring the saxophone on this program. The new pieces are dedicated to the performer Alan Theisen, and all focus on expressions of nature – Cicada Song, River Songs, and Absence Wild are the titles of the three world premier works. In addition, Theisen and Buda will perform together in duo and trio with piano, featuring a concerto for bassoon and saxophone by French composer Marguerite Roesgen-Champion. Buda will present two romantic works by David Kirby and Robert Schumann for the sonorous bassoon and piano.
