Program

This discussion will focus on "imagining the past," in terms of both Handel's imagining of his 1749 opera Theodora, and 21st-century listeners' imagining of 18th-century period music.  Join Boshamer Distinguished Professor of Music, Annegret Fauser, and panel members Brent Wissick and Jeanne Fischer from UNC's Department of Music, Adam Nathaniel Versenyi from Dramatic Arts, and Chad Ludinton and Mi Gyung Kim from NC State's Department of History as they discuss their own musical, historical, political, and religious imaginings of Theodora.
