La finta giardiniera, KV 196 (The Pretend Gardener): Sung in Italian with English subtitles. Music by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Libretto by unknown. James Allbritten, music director. Steven LaCosse, stage director. Angela Vanstory Ward, vocal preparation. Though only 17 years old, Mozart’s genius began to shine through in this sometimes comic, sometimes dramatic opera about hidden identities and happy endings.
