Spanish Harlem Orchestra (SHO), the three-time GRAMMY® award winning Salsa and Latin Jazz band, sets the gold standard for excellence in authentic, New York style, hard core salsa. This thirteen-member orchestra is made up of world-renowned singers, musicians, and performers, who are characterized by the sound of Spanish Harlem in New York City with their raw, organic, and explosive tones.
Oscar Hernández, the bandleader, founder, and pianist of SHO, honors the tradition of great Latin music and works to promote and continue the salsa movement. The lively energy and layered sound of SHO is completely unique, prompting Latin Jazz Network to describe them as “One of the most important contemporary Latin music ensembles in existence today.”
Their latest tour, coming live to CFCC’s Wilson Center, spans their eight studio albums and includes original, harmonic Latin jazz. Grounded in influences from the past with focus on the future, Spanish Harlem Orchestra is continually delivering an unparalleled musical experience.
