Lynn Nottage’s “Clyde’s” is a spicy and sharp-witted play that serves up a delicious blend of comedy and drama. Set in a gritty truck stop sandwich shop, it tells the story of formerly incarcerated kitchen workers trying to rebuild their lives under the watchful eye of their tough-as-nails boss, Clyde. As they create mouthwatering sandwiches, they also share dreams, hopes, and hilarious banter, all while navigating the challenges of a second chance. It’s a savory slice of life that’s equal parts heartwarming and brutally honest, with plenty of humor and soul.
