IF CVNC.org CALENDAR and REVIEWS are important to you:
If you use the CVNC Calendar to find a performance to attend
If you read a review of your favorite artist
If you quote from a CVNC review in a program or grant application or press release
Now is the time to SUPPORT CVNC.org
To North Carolina Artists and Presenters:
Our first concern is that all of you, your families, and fellow staff members are staying safe and healthy. We've been impressed with how many of you have found innovative ways to continue your work as we go through this time. If you have time, please drop Carolyn (info@cvnc.org) a note to let us know how you and your organization are doing. She'll share your news with the others. We often say "We're all in this together," but we know that for some that "together" has hit you more than it has for others.
If you haven't read CVNC.org for a while, check out the general interest articles we've been publishing. Our writers (and a few guests) have reported on how regional arts organizations are continuing their work, explored some artistic byways that time has now allowed us to consider (musicals and classic films), and caught up with some of you in virtual settings.
CVNC wants to share your live and virtual events in our calendar and help you publicize your work throughout the state. We will also consider some of these live and recently-recorded events for review. (We do not want to re-review archival performances we have already covered, but we still encourage you to send these events to us for listing in the calendar alongside newer ones.)
We especially want to encourage presenters whose events we are not routinely able to review to share these listings with us. Submit virtual events for the CVNC.org calendar to Andrea at events@cvnc.org.
We also want to post entries in the CVNC blog ("above the fold" on our home page) of organizational artistic and staff changes, grants received from donors outside NC, and major fundraising campaigns. John manages the blog, so send this info to him at cvnc1@cvnc.org.
Please follow our general rules for calendar submissions https://cvnc.org/help.cfm plus a few additions for virtual events:
Reviews of virtual performances
Until we can resume reviews of normal performance across the state, CVNC will consider reviewing virtual events because a CARES Act grant through the NC Arts Council allows us to add these reviews to our other work.
Previews and Ads on CVNC website
We know presenters have little to no extra income for purchasing ads on CVNC.org and thus accessing the preview space that is provided with each ad. We are working toward providing ads/previews gratis for presenters of events we plan to review. (Thanks again to CARES Act funds!) Let Carolyn know of your interest.
Please let us know if you have questions. Success for us is informing our readers of the vast array of great arts in our state.
Stay well!
