Honoring Dale Higbee for his years of outstanding leadership. Along with musical selections by Dale’s favorite baroque composers, there will be personal tributes and presentations.

In 2011, after twenty-three seasons of organizing, directing and performing Carolina Baroque programs, Dale Higbee announced that he was retiring, at the age of eighty-six. Since Dale’s recorder playing has remained as brilliant as ever, this announcement came as an unwelcome surprise to his colleagues and audiences.  Many of us hoped that Dale would change his mind, and continue to lead Carolina Baroque in performances that have inspired local audiences for many years, [but this has] not been the case.
