Music for a Great Space (MGS) presents gifted performer and educator, David Higgs.
Continuing the commitment to promote the great organists performing today, MGS brings us the artist hailed by the New York Times as having “an imaginative judgement of organ registrations that subtly exploits a wide range of effects by never insists on showing us the whole range within a single piece.” David Higgs performs extensively throughout the US including performances with the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, the Orpheus Ensemble, Chanticleer, and the Empire Brass. For more than twenty years the San Francisco Symphony featured his holiday organ recitals at Davies Symphony Hall and now the LA Philharmonic/ Hollywood Bowl continues the tradition at Walt Disney Concert Hall. Mr. Higgs has recorded for Delos International, Pro Organo, Arsis, Loft, and Gothic records. Mr. Higgs is also chair of the Organ Department at the Eastman School of Music.
Mr. Higgs will be performing on the fantastic Fisk Op. 82 organ housed at Christ United Methodist Church. He will be presenting works by well known organ composers Bach, Buxtehude, and Duruflé among others.
