We are thrilled to announce that Zenph has acquired TimeWarp Technologies, a leader in the field of intelligent, interactive music software. Read the press coverage here. We were long-time admirers of TimeWarp and its president George Litterst, who has now joined Zenph as Director of Software Product Management. George brings an enormous amount of MIDI and software development experience to Zenph in addition to a wellspring of entrepreneurial innovations. We highlight some of TimeWarp’s recent achievements below.

Piano E-Exams Now A Reality
Conservatory Canada made history in February by offering its first official E-Exams. Three students from Kanata, Ontario, took piano examinations online while their examiner was in London, Ontario. This was achieved with the help of Roland Canada digital pianos and Internet MIDI™ software from TimeWarp Technologies. During the E-Exam, Internet MIDI connected the student piano to the examiner’s piano. Each note and pedal movement generated by the student was faithfully reproduced on the examiner's instrument. In other words, the student played two pianos simultaneously, enabling the examiner to listen to the performance as though she were in the same room as the performer.
Conservatory Canada's Executive Director Victoria Warwick thinks E-Exams will revolutionize the way accredited music evaluations are facilitated. “We will now be able to connect with remote Canadian communities where travel costs for examiners and clinicians are prohibitive.” According to blogger Jordan Stevens, “This further shows that the technology used for online music learning is up to the high standards of the examiners at Conservatory Canada.”

Using An iPad To Control Accompaniment Is Child’s Play
A video of a little boy playing the piano doesn’t sound very revolutionary or remarkable, does it? Yet a video of six-year-old Nio Ajero playing Canon in D Major by Johann Pachelbel has been popping up all over the Internet and garnering enthusiastic comments. Nio is the son of Dr. Mario Ajero, a member of the piano faculty at the Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas. What’s remarkable is that Nio casually uses an iPad to manipulate TimeWarp Technologies’ Home Concert Xtreme™ software as he plays along with the accompaniment on his Yamaha Disklavier Pro piano.
